Registration

The Foundation of European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and SOLIDAR are organising the launch of our new book ‘From Europe to Local: Migrating Solidarity’. The event will take place in the new premises of the SOLIDAR secretariat on Rue de Pascale 4-6, 1040 Brussels.

The EU is experiencing an unprecedented influx of migrants and refugees and data shows that global human mobility – whether it is spurred by economic, social, environmental or political reasons – will increase in the following decades. European societies will become more diverse, plural, and multi-ethnic. Thus, integration policies applied from the European to the local level need to be improved in order to be able to respond to changing needs and guarantee social cohesion while respecting the rule of law and promoting a human rights-based approach.

The event will be an opportunity to discuss together with high-level academics, policy makers and policy analysts how to promote the role of local actors, improve cooperation between different levels of governance and civil society in the process of integration of migrants and refugees.
