The 2019 FEPS-Fabian New Year Conference takes place just two months before the UK is due to leave the European Union, in the week of the postponed vote on Theresa May’s Brexit deal. The day will focus on the next stages of the Brexit negotiations and what a Labour government can do to transform the country.

We warmly invite you to join us to hear from our three senior keynote speakers, shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer MP, shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry MP, and the deputy leader of the Labour party Tom Watson MP.

With so much of the Brexit process still uncertain, the FEPS-Fabian conference will be an essential opportunity for attendees, politicians, experts and commentators to discuss the next steps for the left in the UK and Europe.

The conference will also look beyond Brexit, to consider the UK and EU post-Brexit and a new left agenda, from defence and policing to the economy, mental health and much more. For the left to successfully transform the country, a strong Brexit deal must come alongside a compelling vision for the future and a radical social and economic programme.
