Divergences between countries in the industrial competitiveness are causing economic dislocation in the euro zone and undermining Europe’s ability to compete on the international stage. These problems have been compounded by the increasing financialisation of corporate governance and an ideology hostile to industrial policy. Remedying this situation requires a combination of two priorities: multi-stakeholder governance and the development of innovation solutions.
