US Presidential Election Roadshow

02/02/2017

The 2016 U.S. Presidential election has been a polarising event, both in the United States and Europe. What sort of policies can we expect the presidential candidates to pursue and how do policy platforms differ between the leading Democrat and Republican candidates? What kind of impact do we expect the Presidential race to have on President Obama’s legacy and on the transatlantic relationship?

Within the framework of a project aimed at analysing the trajectory of the 2016 Presidential race, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) in cooperation with a number of European partners and member foundations organised a series of public and private discussions in six european capitals. This series of events featured the participation of  Mr. Ken Gude, Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, in addition to other high-level speakers, in an effort to delve into the specifics and the implications of this very important election.

The programme of the series was the following:

Brussels – Monday, June 27th, in cooperation with the German Marshal Fund of the United States

Paris, France – Tuesday, June 28th in cooperation with Fondation Jean Jaurès

London, UK – Wednesday, June 29th in cooperation with the Fabian Society

Rome, Italy – Thursday, June 30th in cooperation with Fondazione Italianieuropei
