FEPS was invited to organize a lab session at the 4th Global Forum of the UNAOC. Over 2,000 participants, including political and corporate leaders, civil society activists, youth groups, faith communities, research centers, foundations and journalists, will come together to agree on joint actions to improve relations across cultures, combat prejudice and build lasting peace.

FEPS will dedicate its lab session to discuss about the following issues:

“For a long time now the status quo in political movements and parties has seen us all share the same core values based on the triple pledge of freedom, equality and solidarity. Especially amongst the progressive movements, the value of solidarity is seen as a historical achievement for our com-mon destiny. The challenge today lies in the redefinition of these values – specifically, solidarity as a notion of progress. The notion has to become a universal one showing the interdependence between the individual, the society in which we live in and the world at large. Without such a holistic approach, constructive intercultural dialogue is not possible and further progress in active and inclusive citizenship will not be possible. We, as the European progressive think tank would also like to launch an expanded dialogue with partners from outside Europe on these issues. Europe urgently needs such inclusive thinking on its cultural identity and its place in the globalised world.”
