Democracy, Freedom and Liberty in Central and Eastern Europe

Towards a stronger European democracy

16 November 2012, Budapest, Hungary

With the objective of steering the progressive discussion on the political challenges in the CEE region FEPS, the Táncsics Foundation and the József Attila Foundation, with the support of Policy Solutions, will organise an event on 16 November 2012 in Budapest, Hungary with the title ”Democracy, Liberty and Freedom in Central and Eastern Europe”.

The event will start with a public conference organised around the discussion on the current situation and the future perspectives of the Central and Eastern European region with high-level national and European progressive political leaders.

This will be followed by an expert roundtable debate with the participation of renowned academics, representatives of the Scientific Councils of the progressive think tanks both from within and outside of the region, notable political personalities and other distinguished interested actors.

The topics addressed include:

1. Strengthening Europe through fighting anti-democratic trends
2. Enhancing pluralism against increasing extremism
3. Revitalising European integration to overcome the anti-European mood

The participation at the public conference is open to everyone. Please, note that the participation at the expert seminar is by invitation only.

Should you have further inquiries about the event, please contact Judit TÁNCZOS, FEPS Policy Advisor at judit.tanczos@feps-europe.eu
