Antal van den Bosch is a professor of Language, Communication, and Computation at Utrecht University’s Faculty of Humanities. Since July 1, 2023, he has served as a board member and domain chair for Social Sciences and Humanities at the Dutch Research Council (NWO). His research focuses on machine learning and language technology, particularly in developing generative AI and large language models. He co-authored “Memory-based Language Processing” and has contributed to volumes on computational morphology and language technology for cultural heritage. He is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and a fellow of the European Association for Artificial Intelligence.
