Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) in partnership with the Fondation Jean Jaurès, the Renner Institute and the Macro Center for Political Economy, is organising an international seminar titled ‘Rebuilding the Welfare State in Multicultural Societies’ in Tel Aviv, Israel next week (25-26 May).

The main focus of the seminar, which will feature a wide range of politicians, academics and civil society representatives will the interplay between the concepts of multiculturalism and the welfare state in our societies. Is there an inherent conflict between these two concepts? Can generous social democratic welfare policies be designed and implemented in ethnically diverse societies?
