While the outcome of negotiations on the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union is still uncertain, FEPS and the Jean-Jaurès Foundation receive Denis MacShane, former British Minister for European Affairs, for a debate led by Renaud Thillaye.

If the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union is scheduled for March 29, 2019, the question remains whether London and Brussels will come to an exit agreement. Several points in the negotiations – the Irish border or the role of the European Court of Justice – are the subject of lively discussions. Negotiations could extend well beyond the European Council from 18 October until November or even until December 2018. In this context, will Theresa May manage to stay on course with her government? Will the European Union win the fight?

For debate, European Foundation for Progressive Studies (FEPS), in partnership with the Jean-Jaurès Foundation will receive Denis MacShane, former Minister of European Affairs, former Labor Party MP and author of “Brexit, No Exit: Why (in the end) Britain will not leave Europe” (IB Tauris, 2017).

The meeting will be moderated by Renaud Thillaye, consultant in European affairs, expert at the Jean-Jaurès Foundation.
