Introduction:

The accession of Croatia to the EU on 1st July is the end of a process, but it also brings up new questions on the future of EU enlargement policy. Hence, the conference would like to mark this event, but it also aims to invite the participants to a common reflection on the future of enlargement towards the South East European countries. The starting point of this reflection will be the outcome of the FEPS and European Forum for Democracy and Solidarity research programme in 2011 and 2012, the book “EU Enlargement Anno 2012: A Progressive Engagement”, which will be officially introduced for the first time in the region at this occasion.
The conference will gather politicians, progressive think tank representatives and academics to comment on the book and discuss on some of the main issues addressed by this publication.
