The aim of this prominent event wass to promote progressive policy debate across disciplines and to bridge the political-academic divide. Hence, the participants include interested actors from different background, including researchers, politicians, civil servants, trade unionists and journalists.
The Research and Policy Days have so far touched upon several diverse topics, always linked to current European issues. Among others, these included “Politics and Religion” to “Euroelitism and Populism.”
 
In the framework of the European Year of the Citizens, this year the Research and Policy Day focused on the state of democracy in contemporary European societies. It ponders the state of democracy at the local, national, European and global levels.
