The kick-off workshop of the European Growth Initiative took place in Berlin on 29 May 2015 in the aftermath of a new investment plan proposed by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to restore growth and jobs in the European Union (EU).

The kick-off workshop of the European Growth Initiative, a joint-venture of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and Humboldt-Viadrina Governance Platform (HVGP) aimed at addressing how exactly the EU’s executive investment strategy is to led to sustainable investments on the ground that can contribute for the further integration of Europe.

The objective of the workshop intended to identify barriers that hinder the successful implementation of investments in renewable energy sources or energy efficiency on the local, national and the EU level.
