This event was organised to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome, one of the most historic moments of the European integration process. According to the realistic and gradualist method of the founding fathers, the Treaties of Rome represented the first significant step towards the European Union, with the aim to build a supranational organisation based on common values: peace, freedom, democracy, rule of law, respect for human rights, equality.
