FIRST ISSUE – FIRST CHALLENGE – The 2014 European elections

As the polls are only one year away, the European elections came up as a natural choice to launch our first issue with the eye-catching title “Citizenship in Action.” To explore this major topic, the Queries Editorial Team interviewed politicians, researchers, and intellectuals, including Martin Schulz, Dominique Wolton, and Colin Crouch. We also feature a survey made by Gallup – which highlights the stakes of the elections – as well as an extensive inquiry on the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), illustrated by similar experiences of e-democracy at the international level, and lessons from the last two presidential campaigns in the United States and France.
