The 3rd session of the initiative took place on 31st of March and 1st of April at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay. Mr François Hollande, President of France, delivered the keynote speech, highlighting the importance of the French-German alliance to promote European integration as well as the role of civil society organisations as central actors in building a stronger European Union.

Every year, the Think Tank Tandem brings together French and German think tanks that work on EU issues to debate the most pressing policy challenges and find solutions to further strengthen European integration. This year’s session focused on relaunching economic growth in the eurozone and how Brexit, as well as the election of Trump as US President, will affect EU trade policy.
