Claudia Marà studied International Relations and Diplomacy at the University of Bologna and the University of Washington. During her studies she worked and volunteered in several grassroots organisations and institutions working with migrants and asylum seekers, such as the International Rescue Committee and the East-Africa Community Service in Seattle. Her passionate activism in the fight against racism and discrimination has always gone hand in hand with a thorough interest in research, focusing in particular on post-structural theories applied to migration studies, critical security studies and discourse analysis. Since 2014, Claudia has worked as a Communication and Information Officer for the Italian social cooperative Laimomo, based in Bologna (Italy) and Brussels.
