Heinz-Josef Bontrup is an economist at the Westfälische Hochschule Gelsenkirchen and guest professor at the University of Siegen. He is the spokesman for the Arbeitsgruppe Alternative Wirtschaftspolitik (‘Working Group on Alternative Economic Policy’), a group of economists and trade unionists working on economic policy proposals for meaningful jobs, better living standards, a strengthened social security system and effective environmental protection.
