Liliana RODRIGUES
Liliana Rodrigues is a professor, a researcher and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). She taught as Visiting Professor in several Spanish and Brazilian universities. She is a researcher at the Centre for Research in Education UMa/FCT and has more than 50 published studies. She is also Vice-president of Culture in the Delegation to the Union of the Mediterranean countries. Liliana Rodrigues has collaborated in the scientific guiding of more than 30 national and international students and participated as a guest speaker at over 60 conferences, highlighting their participation in the conference of the World Vocational and Technological Education Forum in Brasilia at the invitation of President Lula da Silva and the Brazilian government (2009). She was coordinator of the ERASMUS programme in DCE-UMa, a member of the Follow-up Report – University of Madeira in 2012, Institutional Evaluation Programme/European University Association and responsible for cooperation with Cuban, Spanish and Irish universities. Liliana Rodrigues held several management positions at UMa, including the Director of Education Sciences Course. She is strongly linked to the issue of educational qualification, training and employment and she therefore accepted the challenge of coordinating the Academic Development Centre of the University of Madeira. Her areas of work as an MEP are regional development, gender equality, culture and education, and human rights.
