Matthias Pfeffer is a German journalist, author, and advisor specialising in media, democracy, and artificial intelligence. Founder of PfefferMedia and the Council for European Public Space, he began his career as a war reporter and later served as managing director and editor-in-chief of FOCUS TV, overseeing political documentaries and news programs. He has authored books on AI and democracy, including the acclaimed “The Human Imperative,” and lectures on digitalisation and democracy at TU Munich. Pfeffer also consults for the European Broadcasting Union and contributes to leading newspapers like Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on AI and public discourse.
