Pavel ŠARADÍN

Pavel Šaradín is an associate professor at Palacky University in Olomouc and is responsible for teaching courses Nondemocratic Regimes and Transitions to Democracy, Theories of Democracy, Multilevel Governance, Local and Regional Politics and Czech Politics and also for research. In the last five years, he has participated in two basic and applied research projects: “Civic Education in the Czech Republic. Research for the Conception of Civic Education.” “Democratic Innovations at Local Level – Case Study of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia”.

Pavel is currently working on project related to disinformation in science and society: Scientific knowledge as a target of conspiracy and disinformation attacks. He is also working on research concerning the role of social democracy in post-communist Europe. He is involved in a number of research projects, especially for local governments, civic associations and other organizations. He contributes to a number of policy documents for various levels of government.

Pavel collaborates with the journal Listy. From 2018 to 2021, he served as an advisor to the chairman of the Social Democratic Party of the Czech Republic. He is the vice-chairman of the Masaryk Democratic Academy.
