Philippe DE BRUYCKER


Philippe De Bruycker is a Professor at the Law Faculty and Centre for European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where he teaches and does research in the areas of migration and asylum at the EU and Belgian levels.

He was previously an administrator at the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Justice and Home Affairs. He is Jean Monnet Chair for Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy and is the founder and coordinator of the Academic Network for Legal Studies on Migration and Asylum in Europe known as the “Odysseus Network“.

After having extensively published on issues of constitutional and administrative law as Head of the Centre for Public Law of the ULB and associated member of the C.N.R.S. in France, his more than one hundred publications now focus on EU migration and asylum law.
