Tomás GONÇALVES

Trainee

Tomás Gonçalves joined FEPS as a Climate Research Trainee in September 2025. His work focuses on the analysis of EU climate and energy policies, with particular attention to the European Green Deal and Just Transition.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Lisbon and is completing a Master’s in International Relations: EU Studies at Aalborg University. His academic work explores sustainable development, EU policymaking, and questions of territorial and social justice.

Before joining FEPS, Tomás worked as a Policy & Advocacy Officer at Último Recurso, where he contributed to EU advocacy campaigns, authored policy-focused opinion articles, and supported international advocacy initiatives. He also served as a Democracy Rapporteur at the Our Rule of Law Foundation, focusing on judicial independence, democratic governance and the rule of law in the EU.
