Policy Study

09/10/2014

Following the Polish general elections that took place on 9th October 2011, Dr. Ania Skrzypek, FEPS Policy Advisor, analyses the situation of the Polish left and the landscape after the battle. Though a list which can be long, she identifies some that could explain the bad results for the SLD (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej) such as the preparation of this election or the communication. She also make some comments about the new landscape. There is a clear regrouping on the right, a clear rise of the anti-clerical sentiments and there is a major question on how the new set up of the party system will settle.
