Giovanni Cozzi, FEPS Economic Advisor, calls into question the old rhetoric that free trade is a win-win proposition regarding the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). He claims that negotiations should have focused on public interest and the protection of fundamental rights instead of putting interests of corporations first.

Cozzi also remarks that Europe needs to adopt urgently a strong and expansionary fiscal and investment plan, and only after this it will make sense to discuss the role that trade could play in boosting growth and employment in the EU.
