To live on credit is to live in fear of social decline. Today, mechanisms exist that allow individuals to escape the downward spiral of over-indebtedness but they are limited. How can we go further? Michel Debout and Chaynesse Khirouni put forward practical proposals that can provide genuine opportunities and support to those threatened by debt and the psychological distress associated with living in debt.
