This is a closed meeting.

This online meeting aims at bringing together government officials, policymakers, and academic experts from a broad circle of European progressives. Their joint task will be to reflect on the current state of relations between the EU and Russia and the implications from the Covid-19 crisis.

The event is part of the project “EU and Russia at Crossroads”, which is organised by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) together with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Regional Office for Cooperation and Peace in Europe (FES ROCPE), the Fondation Max van der Stoel (FMS), the Fondation Jean Jaurès (FJJ), the Karl Renner Institut (RI) and the Amicus Europae Foundation (AE).

Relations between the EU and Russia have been the subject of much research. The aim of the “EU and Russia at the crossroads” initiative is not to redo these efforts, but to critically and frankly engage with the actual relationship between Russia and the EU; to formulate practical ways out of the political deadlock; and to devise progressive, comprehensive and proactive policies to effectively deal with the current geopolitical and security challenges on our continent.
