The online graduation ceremony of the Progressive Ukraine Programme held within the Open Progressive University (OPU) took place on March 2026 in the European Parliament, held by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), in cooperation with the S&D Group in the European Parliament and the Foundation Max van der Stoel (FMS).

This special occasion celebrated the achievements of 25 young Ukrainian students who have completed this unique e-learning programme, designed to empower progressive youth and strengthen their engagement with Ukraine’s future and its European path.

Through comprehensive modules addressing the war against Ukraine, reconstruction, EU enlargement, and preparation for EU membership, the programme has provided participants with expert knowledge, academic training, and valuable networking opportunities.

The online ceremony was moderated by Ania Skrzypek and featured keynote contributions from Iratxe García Pérez, President of the S&D Group in the European Parliament, Uwe Optenhögel, FEPS Vice-President, and Kido Koenig, Director of the FMS.

The ceremony will mark not only the successful completion of the academic journey but also the continued commitment of FEPS and its partners to fostering progressive knowledge, leadership, and democratic resilience in Ukraine. FEPS continues to stand with the people of Ukraine and support its full independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and devoting resources to monitoring the war’s short and long-term consequences and Ukraine’s reconstruction.

FEPS, S&D Group and FMS warmly congratulate the graduates and look forward to their continued contribution to building a democratic, progressive, and European future for Ukraine.
