On 9th – 11th September FEPS with the support of Fondation Jean Jaures will hold a “New Global Progressive Construct Convention”. Initiated by President of FEPS, Massimo D’Alema, and former President of Brasil Lula da Silva, the initiative under the coordination of FEPS Vice President Pascal Lamy and Ernst Stetter, FEPS Secretary General and is to bring together leading academics and then politicians from all over the world with a task to reflect on the challenges of the contemporary times and try to forge an inspiring, distinctive proposal for a new international order.

The threads of the debate this weekend will include the evaluation of globalisation and the state of development of the global financial market capitalism; the comprehensive summary of the challenges of modernity with a question on how to become protagonists of change again; and finally the issue on what sort of alliances could be thinkable to bring about the change in the times of shrinking space of traditional politics. The herewith started conversation is to continue taking deliberations through a seminars held in different continents towards the end foreseen in 2017.
