The Foundation for European Progressive Studies in cooperation with the Fondation Jean Jaurès and with the support of the PNDS-Tarayya party, are organising a conference in Niamey, Niger, focusing on the issue of ‘elections, democracy and governance in East and Central Africa’. This conference will bring together several policy experts and policy makers from both Africa and Europe, aiming at exploring the importance of democracy and transparent elections, the challenges that democracies in the region are facing, and the role that the European Union can play in helping to deepen democratic institutions and processes.
