In order to give you access to our events, FEPS processes your personal data together with any other organiser of this event mentioned in the description of the event and in accordance with 'FEPS’ data protection policy.

Building on the strong collaboration between the CEE Bankwatch Network, FEPS and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), we are organising a joint event under the title ‘Ensuring a Just Transition in the Industrial Transformation’ as an additional way of sharing knowledge, generating ideas, networking and enhancing the visibility of the practical knowledge available at hand to achieve a Just Transition in the context of the EU’s green industrial transformation.

  1. Inclusive dialogue: Ensure that diverse perspectives are represented and heard during discussions, including those of campaigners, experts, EU decision-makers, academia, etc.
  2. Identify barriers and solutions: Delve into potential barriers or challenges that may hinder the successful implementation of Just Transition projects, and brainstorm creative solutions to address them.
  3. Knowledge exchange: Facilitate the sharing of best practices, lessons learnt, and success stories from different regions or sectors that can provide insights and inspiration for the Just Transition process.
  4. Long-term sustainability: Discuss strategies for ensuring the long-term sustainability and transformative potential of the projects and initiatives proposed under the just transition framework.
  5. Capacity building: Explore ways to enhance the capacity of stakeholders, particularly in regions undergoing transition, to implement and manage Just Transition projects effectively.
  6. Dissemination of outcomes of the event: Plan for effectively sharing the outcomes, insights, and recommendations from the event with a broader audience (under Chatham House Rules).
  7. Collaborative action: Encourage new connections among the participants through networking, working groups and open discussions.
  8. Enhanced visibility: Showcase BWN’s and FEPS’s daily efforts in the Just Transition process by highlighting our publications, reports, extensive knowledge, and significant experience in the field.

The discussion will revolve around the overarching topic of the impact of industrial transformation on Just Transition processes in just transition regions, for which we will count on a presentation of the latest FEPS research by:

  • Michael Obersteiner (University of Oxford)
  • Milan Petit (Danube University)
  • Mikhail Sirenko (Delft University and Wageningen University)

This event will be held under Chatham House Rules.
