Just Transition: How to manage the social and economic aspects towards more sustainability

03/08/2015

This meeting took place just a few days before the EU energy Union summer package was announced on 15th July 2015. Regarding Latvia, one of the most important proposals in this will be the modernisation fund, which involves 9 other EU countries too. The aim of which is to help those lower income Member States with investment towards energy efficiency and modernisation of their energy systems. It will be based on 2% of Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) allowances.

This round-table aimed to gather experts in Latvia on climate and energy issues to feed into the wider project that FEPS is carrying out with changePartnership on the Just Transition topic.
