“Rare sont ceux qui ont une telle conviction politique durant toute la vie” a déclaré le secrétaire général de la FEPS, Ernst Stetter, suite à l’annonce du décés de Pierre Mauroy. “Vous avez perdu un grand homme” a-t-il ajouté à l’adresse des membres de la Fondation Jean Jaurès, fondation partenaire de la FEPS, qu’il avait fondé il y a 20 ans et qu’il continuait de présider. Ernst Stetter soulignait à ce titre le côté visionnaire de l’ancien premier Premier Ministre de François Mitterrand qui avait attribué à la Fondation Jean Jaurès la responsabilité de valoriser l’histoire socialiste, l’ambition de construire un monde plus démocratique et de contribuer à réformer la social-démocratie.
