The Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), with active support of the Kalevi Sorsa Foundation, organised the conference “Return to Spheres of Influence? Democratisation and Integration in Post-Cold War Europe”on 11 September 2014 at Porthania IV (University of Helsinki).

The aim of the conference was to analyse the state of democratic development and European integration in the former East-bloc 25 years after the end of the Cold War. And are spheres of influence making a return?
