Dr Georgios Samaras is a lecturer (assistant professor) in public policy at the School for Government and Policy Institute, King’s College London. He received his PhD in political science from King’s College London, where he examined the Greek farright party Golden Dawn. His research encompasses far-right extremism, political communication and policy responses to illiberal political practices, while also exploring the dynamics of European and US politics and the global rise of authoritarianism. Since 2024, Dr Samaras has also served as a research associate at the Hellenic Observatory at the London School of Economics. In addition, he sits on the advisory board of the Greek think tank ETERON and is a research associate at the ENA Institute.
