In this paper, Klaus Voll, FEPS Advisor on Asia looks at the requirements for being a “Great Power” and whether India meets these criteria. Looking at resources, economic factors, the political landscape, geopolitical positioning and military and soft power, he finds that domestic affairs will ultimately affect the position of India at a global level.
