February 8

The Institute of Social Democracy in co-operation with the Foundation For European Progressive Studies organizied a conference on European housing practices with international experts, politicians of Hungarian opposition and representatives of Hungarian housing NGOs to discuss the challenges and specific actions.

Agenda

The housing crisis affects about a third of the Hungarian population. Millions struggle financially with housing, hundreds of thousands live in uncomfortable homes and more than 60% of children live in overcrowded homes. The parties of democratic opposition want to change and improve this serious and comprehensive social problem and the goal is to achieve a real, responsible housing policy in Hungary that reduces social disparities and provides affordable housing and responds to environmental and climate protection issues.
