The EMU reform is back on the top level debate on the Future of Europe. After many reports and reflection papers, the time to discuss some concrete legislative proposals is coming up. Our political family has been making detailed proposals since the start of the Eurozone crisis and progressive expertise has been developed with the support of FEPS and others.

In the framework of a multi annual project on the Banking and Capital Markets Union run by FEPS, Foundacion Alternativas, the University of the West of England and the Danish Institute for International Studies, a conference on “Stabilising the Eurozone: Economic, Banking and Financial Integration to Redress the Monetary Union” is organised in Madrid at the Espacio Bertelsmann on 30 November 2017.

Josep Borrell, former president of the European Parliament and Vice President of FEPS will open the works with a reflection on the core objectives of the EMU architecture and Minister De Guindos will present the Spanish priorities for a successful reform.
