A gender sensible European Parliament in 2014?

Seminar organized with the support of the Fondation Jean Jaurès (FJJ) from 9.30 to 17.00

Continuing the well-established and successful research programme on progressive feminism the FEPS and the FJJ would like to assemble again European experts both from academic and political side, to continue the collective reflection on current challenges of emancipation and gender equality.

The seminar will begin with a discussion on the role of MEPs in the process of establishing a gender sensible European Parliament in 2014. Then the participants will address the challenge of remaining measures, which can influence the shaping of the electoral campaign, both at European and national level. Lastly, we will take a closer look at the place of gender roles within the electoral campaigns and aim to come up with proposals on how to establish a more gender sensitive European Parliament.
