09/10/2014

Klaus Voll, FEPS Advisor on Asia and Kamakshi Nandi, Political analyst and historian

This most recent FEPS briefing on India comes at a backdrop of considerable upheaval on both the domestic and foreign policy levels.

In Part I, it addresses the current power struggles in India, a Himalayan deluge in Uttarakhand, a convincing Congress victory against all odds in Karnataka and the challenge of armed Maoism to state and society.

Part II deals with Foreign Policy issues and highlights the visit of Chinese Premier Le Keqiang,  Indo-Japanese relations, the role of Nepal as a bridge-builder vis-à-vis China and India and offers a thorough analysis on major issues of the India-EU Free Trade Agreements (FTA)
