As part of FEPS’ fringe events on the occasion of the S&D Africa Days, Dipo Faloyin, a Nigerian-American author and journalist, presented his debut book, Africa Is Not a Country, in conversation with Kido Koenig, Director of the Foundation Max van der Stoel. Challenging stereotypes and misrepresentations about Africa, Faloyin explores the origins of the continent’s 54 countries while rejecting defeatist narratives. Through a well-researched, witty, and ultimately hopeful analysis, he offers a fresh perspective on Africa and its capacity to imagine and build a brighter future for the continent.
