The Foundation for European Progressive Studies along with the German Marshall Fund of the United States co-organized this panel discussion in Brussels. This event was designed to take a step beyond the speculation, overwhelming since the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, and provide a wider perspective towards the future of EU-USA relations.

“The Upending of U.S. Politics: Wider Perspectives on the 2016 U.S. Elections” fostered a much needed discussion following the disbelief and shock expressed in the aftermath of the American electoral process. It focused on which kind of forces deeply influenced the results, how the U.S. election results will shape the future of the transatlantic relations and what the EU’s response should be.
