Today, more than a million refugees live in Europe, but their voices are not heard.

The G-100 Conference is a refugee-led initiative aimed at creating a dialogue between refugees, EU citizens and policy makers in various levels of decision-making processes.

In Brussels, we will address two pertinent issues:

  • Democracy // The importance of considering the voice of refugees, while drawing policies aiming to facilitate refugees’ integration in the European societies where they are living.
  • Higher Education // The challenges facing refugees on their way to higher education in Belgium.

We will be joined by:

– Laura Corrado, Head of Unit for Migration and Integration, European Commission
– Monica De Coninck, Belgian MP
– Enrique Guerrero Salom, S&D MEP and Global Progressive ForumPresident
–  Véronique Jamoulle, Belgian MP, Senator and Auderghem Local Councillor
– MEP Josef Weidenholzer, S&D Vice-President and Member of the LIBE Committee of the European Parliament
– Henriette Stoeber, Policy and Project officer, European University Association

The debate will be presented by Jack Parrock, Brussels Bureau Chief, Feature Story News.

The event follows a workshop that took place on March 18th, where refugees, local citizens, university students, professionals and experts debated new ideas and thoughts and cohesively worked to create concrete policy recommendations.

For G-100, the voices of refugees need to be a part of finding solutions. We believe this interaction and intersection of dialogues is where change is birthed.
