Automation and artificial intelligence will have a big impact on workers and changing our approach to work. The overarching objective is to define the guidelines that can help reconcile technological change and social rights. Among the most relevant and pressing implications for public policy, progressive thinking should focus on: a) How to prepare a soft landing for a labour market in transition?; b) How do we enable and empower technology to solve problems for marginalised communities?; c) How to ensure that artificial intelligence and machine learning are technology solutions that work for the people?; d) What is the nature of the skills required for the 4th industrial revolution?
