This invitation-only seminar, convened under the auspices of the Next Left Research Programme by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and the Karl Renner Institute, brought together leading MEPs of the S&D Group, members of the Progressive Pollsters Network and progressive stakeholders.

A year after the 2024 European Parliament elections, the discussion reflected on key political and social trends shaping Europe’s destiny. Among the problems debated were voter sentiment about the EU project, fresh social issues on the continent, and the state of social democracy in the EU and UK, today and in the future. The conference aimed to offer strategic insights to help rejuvenate progressive politics in Europe.
