The Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 went to Margot Wallström, former Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister, EU Commissioner, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict and current chairperson of the Olof Palme International Center. Margot Wallström is a brave, steadfast, principled, and visionary politician and activist, standing up for her values of feminism, human rights, and inclusive policies that guarantee women’s rights and representation. Read more.

It has been working with local communities in Mozambique and other African regions for over 20 years, advocating and organising for a just transition away from fossil fuels, ensuring that people’s voices are heard and their rights are respected, demanding that small farmers have access to land and that oil and gas companies exploring the country face legal consequences, preventing further violations and harm. Read more
