The article from Judit Tánczos, FEPS Policy Advisor, focuses on presenting the changes introduced by the fourth amendment of the Hungarian Fundamental Law. Including the most modifications so far, it is considered to be a major step in strengthening and preserving the position of the governing right-wing Fidesz. Most importantly, it is widely perceived as an act breaching rule of law and several other fundamental values of the European Union. The text reveals the problematic issues and its possible effects and shares the worries about the Hungarian situation.
