Laeticia THISSEN

Senior Policy Analyst on Gender Equality

Laeticia Thissen is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), where she leads the foundation’s work on women’s rights, gender equality, and anti-discrimination. With close to a decade of experience in feminist governance, intersectional justice, and policy innovation, she designs and delivers research, advocacy, and multi-stakeholder initiatives that shape gender-transformative policies across Europe and beyond. Her portfolio includes work on feminist foreign policy, the care economy, and gender-based violence, as well as partnerships with UN Women, trade unions, and civil society across Europe and beyond.

An officially ILO-certified gender auditor, Laeticia brings technical expertise in gender-responsive policy design, monitoring, and evaluation, grounded in international frameworks such as CEDAW, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, and the SDGs. She is co-editor of “A New Gender Equality Contract for Europe” (Springer, 2024) and lead author of several influential studies, including “The European Care Strategy: a chance to ensure inclusive care for all?” and ”Towards a care-led recovery for Europe: a feminist analysis of the national recovery and resilience plans.”

Before joining FEPS, she worked in the European Committee of the Regions and the European Parliament. She holds an MA in Gender Studies (summa cum laude) from ULB and partner universities, an MA in European Studies from Maastricht University, and a postgraduate certificate in Migration, Ethnic Diversity and Intercultural Relations. Laeticia is also a member of the Brussels Binder network, promoting women’s voices in policy debates.
