FEPS together with Amicus Europae will be joined on Saturday, 27th May 2017 in Warsaw, Poland by over 500 representatives of progressive thinks tanks, parties, civil societies and trade unions – who will gather for a conference “Forum for Progress”. The event will be opened with a speech of Aleksander Kwasniewski, former President of Poland. The input for the further parts of the conversation will derive from a year-long research that is being concluded in the cooperation framework of FEPS and AE on “From the past programmatic and organisational developments towards the identity of the Polish progressives now”. The speakers and participants will then engage in two plenary sessions – about the future of progressivism and the future of Europe; and in 4 breakout sessions on: nationalised capitalism – the Polish case; the principle of self-governance and local powers; education for social mobility and progress; the losers of globalisation and the right wing populism.

The list of panelists include: Sławomir Wiatr ( Forum Postępu) Anna Skrzypek (Europejska Fundacja Studiów Postępowych), Barbara Nowacka (Fundacja im. I. Jarugi Nowackiej, Inicjatywa Polska), Krzysztof Gawkowski (v-ce Przewodniczący SLD), Bartosz Rydliński (Centrum im. I. Daszyńskiego), Michał Syska (Ośrodek Myśli Społecznej im. F.
