On November 4,  FEPS, together with CEVEA DK, ARENA idé and FES Nordics, hosted an upon-invitation roundtable to present the ‘Meeting the challenges from the populist right‘ new policy study from a 3 years-long project, “Can the European progressive center-left gain voters from populist right-parties if socio-cultural issues, notably immigration, are redefined in socio-economic terms?” focused on reframing the progressive narrative on migration.

This closed roundtable marked a pivotal moment in a three-year project examining attitudes in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany towards migration, with a focus on how social democrats can thrive in increasingly complex political landscapes.

In light of the findings from our extensive survey, we were able to reveal key insights that are relevant and crucial to the ongoing EU-wide debate on the Future of the Pact on Migration and Asylum.

This invitation-only session gathered leading experts to discuss how these findings can inform progressive strategies at both the national and European levels.
