Presentation of the Lamy’s Group Declaration – “Priotarising People and Planet”

Upon the personal invitation of the former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski and together with the foundation led by him – Amicus Europae, FEPS is honoured to be organising the event: Responsibility and Development: New Agenda for Europe and the World – which is designed to be a stop on the roadshow to present the Lamy’s Group’s declaration “Priotarising People and Planet”.

Following the debates in Paris, Amsterdam, London and Madrid – the event will enable engaging the audience in the conversation that has possibly been the most groundbreaking, the most inspiring and the most hopeful exchange since 1990s regarding the progressive attitude towards the next stage of globalisation. Looking at the challenges of our times, the Group came up with a comprehensive agenda – that not only paves way towards an alternative that would finally cohere the short and long term objectives of the international politics, but also will offer centre left a change to gain power of initiative hopefully stepping into the centre of the ongoing mobilisations: in the name of climate justice, equal rights or freedom of expression (to name just a few).

The conference in Warsaw, held in Polish and English, will open to 200 participants and will feature an amazing line up of speakers – who will talk about the Declaration, the steps to take and also more concretely one of the regional integration aspects in particular – namely the europe.

The event will be inaugurated by President Kwasniewski and former WTO Director Pascal Lamy themselves, who will then be followed by interventions of: Ireneusz Bil, Ernst Stetter, Alfred Gusenbauer, Marek Belka, Tone Rop, Mafalda Damaso, Ania Skrzypek, Paolo Guerreri, Stewart Wood, Joanna Tytowicz, Cezary Wojcik. For more details please consult the programme ,the declaration or contact Dr. Ania Skrzypek, FEPS Senior Research Fellow at ania.skrzypek@feps-europe.eu or Ms Céline Guedes, FEPS Junior Policy Officer at celine.guedes@feps-europe.eu The events promoting the Lamy’s Declaration can further be followed via twitter with #GlobalProgress
